Florian Degroise is a garden designer and was one of the RHS Young Designer of the Year 2013 finalists at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. Florian was a student at the London College of Garden Design and also studied at the Lycée de l'Horticulture et du Paysage de Montreuil. On Friday 10 April 2015, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) launched a new campaign ‘Greening Grey Britain’ at an abandoned Victorian Dockyard in East London. This marked a call to action asking the nation to transform hard, cold, grey areas into beautiful places, to enrich lives and benefit the environment. RHS Ambassadors Nick Knowles, Chris Beardshaw and Adam Frost joined volunteers on the final patch of concrete to create a beautiful riverside walk, packed with flowers. The Cody Dock project is the first of 6,000 unloved grey spaces that will be turned green by the RHS over the next three years.

Anyone can get involved in Greening Grey Britain by creating a windowbox, having potted plants in a front garden, or transforming a grey community area – we can all make a difference one plant at a time. Gerry Moore spent 30 years working in banking, finishing up as a bank manager before he decided it was time for a change. He went to night school and did more training with the RHS, landing his dream job in the sprawling orchards at RHS Garden Wisley. He particularly enjoys the education aspects of the role and spends a lot of time teaching new students.

Lee Hood spent years working in finance before being made redundant in the recession and deciding to restart his career, doing something he was actually passionate about. He trained with the RHS and loves every minute of being a gardener.
