vgr 50 Branchline EMD - Y159 Test Run at the DSCR: Australian Trains

On Saturday 6 July 2013, Y159 operated a short test trip from Daylesford out to the forest and return. This was the first time the loco had ventured beyond Daylesford yard following a repaint in authentic VR blue and gold livery by volunteers at the Daylesford Spa Country Railway.

Interestingly, the third series of Y class diesels are the only use of a six cylinder EMD 645-E engine in a railway locomotive anywhere in the world.
